Alvor: Parish Church
The church, located in the upper part of Alvor, is overlooking the old village and the bay of Alvor. The interior of the church has some elements of the Manuelitic Gothic style.

Alvor: Fresh from the grill
We found this man preparing a squid kebab (“Espetada de lulas”) on the charcoal grill on the Ria de Alvor lagoon. A few minutes later this delicious speciality was served in one of the fish & seafood restaurants near Alvor’s small harbour.

This famous statue of a fisherman is a reminder of the importance of the fishing industry, the area’s most important economic sector in former times. The statue is made of stones from the area.

The eastern part of the beach of Alvor is also called "Praia dos Três Irmãos" due to the spectacular rock formation, creating the impression of 3 brothers. Various excellent hotels and holiday resorts are located here, contributing to the reputation of Alvor as one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Algarve.
